If you are sure that you don't want to use your certificate anymore, it is safer to revoke it, so that nobody else can use it. The revocation of a LuxTrust certificate can be done online, through telephone or at a registration authority.

Attention: The revocation is a definitive and irreversible operation. Once you have revoked your certificate you will no longer be able to use it.

To have your certificate revoked, proceed as follows:

  • Online revocation (excl. SSL and Code Signing certs)
Click here to get to the online revocation. You will need your PIN and challenge you received by SMS text messaging or letter
  • Revocation by telephone call
Contact our customer service desk (+352 24 550 550) (available 24/7) and respond to the identification questions.
  • Revocation via a LuxTrust registration authority
Report in person to a registration authority of your choice. Addresses of registration authorities can be found on our website: http://ra.luxtrust.lu. After ascertaining that your request is legitimate the registration authority will verify your identity. For that purpose you must provide an official identification document (identity card, passport or Luxembourg residence permit).
  • Revocation by way of a “certificate administrator” certificate
Using your certificate to which a “certificate administrator” profile has been assigned you can revoke certificates issued in the name of your company or institution without the prior consent of the card holder.
    You have the following options:
    • Electronically sign an email or text document in which you request revocation by way of your “administrator” certificate and send it to questions@luxtrust.lu
    • Contact our customer service desk (+352 24 550 550) and respond to the identification questions.
    • You also have the possibilty to request the revocation of certificates through a registration authority (LuxTrust reseller).
